Landing page redesign for a creative video agency
Vidico's homepage had strong proof but buried it under a long scroll. I audited the page, then restructured it around one action, getting an estimate, with the showreel, client logos and results brought forward.
( 01 ) The brief
Vidico wanted a homepage that turns visitors into briefs, without losing the proof that makes the agency easy to trust.
Marketing
More estimate-quiz starts. The 1-minute estimate is the main lead source, so it has to be the obvious next step on every screen.
Leadership
Position Vidico as full-stack, not "just video". Design services were new and needed a place on the page.
Sales
Proof before the pitch. Brands, campaigns and client results should appear early for enterprise buyers.
SEO and content
Keep search value. The FAQ block ranks for explainer-video queries, so content had to move, not disappear.
( 02 ) UX research
Three methods, one question: what slows a visitor down on the way to a brief?
- Heuristic reviewI went through the live page section by section against Nielsen's usability heuristics and rated each issue High or Medium by its impact on conversion.
- Content inventoryI counted every call to action, service, FAQ and portfolio tile, to see where the page repeated itself or asked too much.
- Stakeholder mappingI traced each requirement to its owner, so every change on the page could be explained by a business goal.
6
Filled buttons on one page with five different labels: "Get in touch", "Get an estimate", "See our work", "Learn more" and "View case studies".
13
Services in a carousel that shows about five at a time, with equal weight, so the core explainer offer doesn't stand out.
18
FAQs sitting between the visitor and the strongest offer on the page, a free video script.
( 03 ) Research findings
Ten findings from the audit, each with the change it led to.
Every point is pinned on the real homepage screenshot too. Open it in the landing page section with the Notes toggle on.
- Navigation
Issue · HighThe black "Get in touch" button in the nav competes with the orange "Get an estimate" in the hero. Across the page, 6 filled buttons use 5 different labels.
FixOne primary action. "Get an estimate" is the only filled button, and everything else is a ghost button or a text link.
- Hero
Issue · MediumThe hero is a static image collage. For a video agency, there is no reel or play button above the fold.
FixA full-width showreel player right under the headline. Buyers judge craft before they read copy.
- Social proof
Issue · Medium"Trusted by 920+ brands" is a small grey caption above five logos.
FixLogos right after the hero, with the 920+ number written into the sentence.
- Work
Issue · MediumA very tall work carousel where Spotify appears in several tiles, so the work looks less varied than it is.
FixMoved to the services page and linked from "See our work", so the homepage stays focused.
- Industries
Issue · MediumFaded client names sit behind the heading, and 10 industry tiles add another layer of links before any real proof.
FixReplaced by named client results with real numbers.
- Services
Issue · Medium13 services in a carousel that shows about five at a time and is cut off at both edges. The core offer isn't highlighted.
FixFive grouped services, with the core offer largest and design services shown as part of the same team.
- Results
Issue · HighAnonymous totals (1200+ projects, 1.5 billion views) with no client attached. Counters animate up from 0, so link previews and fast scrollers can see zeros.
FixNumbers visible at rest, each tied to a named client and linked to its story.
- Testimonials
Issue · MediumThree equal testimonials with long quotes and four separate links. The outcomes aren't highlighted, so none of them stands out.
FixOne full story with the outcome highlighted, plus role and company.
- FAQ
Issue · Medium18 questions in a row push the final offer far below the fold.
FixThe top three questions as an accordion, with the full list on the FAQ page to keep its SEO value.
- Final CTA
Issue · MediumThe strongest offer, a free video script, sits last behind a vague "Learn more" button.
FixA clear "Start with a free video script" block with the same primary action as the hero.
( 04 ) New structure
Ten sections became seven, ordered so trust builds before each ask.
( 05 ) Key UX decisions
Six decisions shaped the page, and each one has a reason.
One primary action
Only one filled button
Everything else is a ghost button or a text link. One visual weight for the main action cuts decision time and makes funnel data cleaner.
Show the work first
Showreel above the fold
For a video agency, the reel is the strongest proof. Buyers judge craft before they read copy.
Stories over counters
Named results
"−50% cost per lead for Bambee" is more believable than "2,000+ projects", and it gives sales a talking point.
Less choice
Five services, not thirteen
Grouping by what a buyer needs, with the core offer largest, stops the page from feeling like a catalog.
Content at rest
No hidden numbers
All text and numbers render immediately, so previews, crawlers and people who scroll fast see the real proof.
Brand continuity
Same logo, new layout
The Vidico wordmark stays as it is. The redesign changes structure and hierarchy, not the brand.
( 06 ) Tokens and accessibility
Semantic color tokens first, then components, all checked against WCAG 2.2 AA.
- surface/base
#0C1428 - surface/raised
#131F3B - text/primary
#EEF2FB - text/secondary
#A3B0CC - action/primary
#FF8F3F - action/on-primary

One check changed the design: white text on the orange button fails contrast, so the button label uses a dark ink token instead.
- AaPrimary text on base16.3:1Pass
- AaSecondary text on raised7.5:1Pass
- AaWhite on orange button2.3:1Fail
- AaDark ink on orange button8.4:1Pass
( 07 ) The landing page
Compare the current and updated homepage, with every research point marked in place.
Use the switch at the bottom of the screen to flip between versions. It keeps you on the same section, so you can compare them one block at a time. The Notes toggle shows or hides the research points.
Everything you need in a creative video agency
One team takes your brief from concept to delivery, then turns it into variants for every channel. No extra headcount.
- Free script for new clients
- 4.9★ from 100+ reviews
- Every aspect ratio included
FIX 01–02, 04One primary action, and the showreel sits above the fold. The repeated work grid moves to the services page.
Trusted by 920+ brands, from startups to global enterprises
FIX 03The 920+ number is part of the sentence, right after the hero.
Video and design, from one team
Explainer videos
2D and 3D animation that turns a complex product into a 60–90 second story buyers remember.
App and demo videos
UI walkthroughs and feature launches.
Ad and social creative
Static ads and short-form in every ratio.
Brand and live action
Campaigns, TVCs and case-study films.
Design services
Decks, infographics and illustration.
FIX 0613 services grouped into 5. The core offer gets the most weight, and design sits in the same team.
Real clients, real numbers
FIX 05, 07Numbers are visible at rest, and each one links to its client story.
“An extension of our team, Vidico turned a basic premise into a cinematic story that drove thousands of leads and earned a sequel.”
FIX 08One strong story with a highlighted outcome, instead of three equal cards.
